Ryan Bare

Ryan Bare is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in chemical safety and incident investigation. Currently serving as Supervisory Chemical Incident Investigator at the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board since July 2020, Ryan previously held key positions at BP, where roles included Staff Reliability Engineer and Operations Manager, focusing on plant reliability and operational safety. Prior experience at Valero Energy Corporation as Plant Manager and Engineering Manager involved overseeing environmental, health, safety, and production at a leading corn ethanol plant. Ryan's career also includes substantial tenure at ConocoPhillips, managing safety and reliability for a major oil refinery, and earlier positions at Celanese as a Project Engineer responsible for project execution and contractor management. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.
