Jonathan Gardner is a highly experienced marine professional with a strong background in law enforcement and operational leadership within the U.S. Coast Guard since July 2016. Currently serving as Commanding Officer and Boat Tactics Branch Chief, Jonathan specializes in training for non-compliant vessel pursuits and conducting operational tests on new platforms. Previous roles include Acting Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard Cutter SAWFISH and positions related to ice-breaking operations and maritime law enforcement. Jonathan has also led joint exercises in maritime operations for international participants while serving with the United States Southern Command. Earlier career experience includes enforcement of marine bylaws as Assistant Harbormaster for both Duxbury and Marshfield police departments and leadership roles at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
