Omar Syed

Omar Syed has extensive work experience in various roles within the public and private sector. Omar currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources at the U.S. Dairy Export Council since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Human Resources at the same organization from July 2019 to February 2023. From January 2017 to July 2019, Omar worked as a Senior Advisor to the President & CEO, Tom Vilsack, at the U.S. Dairy Export Council.

Before joining the U.S. Dairy Export Council, Omar worked at the USDA as a Special Assistant and Advisor to the Secretary, Tom Vilsack, from March 2015 to January 2017. Omar also gained experience as a Program Analyst at Senior Advisor to Human Resources (SAHR) at the District of Columbia Department of Human Resources from January 2015 to March 2015.

In the political realm, Omar served as a Special Assistant to Governor Charlie Crist and Youth Vote Director at the Florida Democratic Party from May 2014 to November 2014. Omar also worked as an Advance Specialist in the Office of the Secretary, Penny Pritzker, at the U.S. Department of Commerce from August 2013 to May 2014.

Prior to that, Omar held roles such as a State and Local Government Staff Assistant at the Presidential Inaugural Committee from December 2012 to January 2013, a Political Assistant at Obama for America from March 2012 to November 2012, and an Intern in the Writers Department at the Office of Presidential Correspondence in The White House from January 2011 to May 2011.

Omar'scareer started as a Field Organizer at the Florida Democratic Party from August 2010 to November 2010. Omar Syed's work experience demonstrates their expertise in human resources, government affairs, and political operations.

Omar Syed, SHRM-SCP, completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Integrated Biology from the University of Florida, with a duration from 2004 to 2008. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Human Resource Management from Colorado State University Global, which they are expected to complete between 2021 and 2023.

In addition to their educational background, Omar has obtained several certifications. Omar holds the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM, which they achieved in June 2023. Furthermore, they have also earned the Building Better Work Relationships: New Techniques for Results-oriented Communication certification from the American Management Association in April 2022. Additionally, Omar holds two coaching certificates - the USA Wrestling's National Coaches Education Program- Bronze Level Coaching Certificate and the USA Wrestling's National Coaches Education Program- Copper Level Coaching Certificate, both obtained in April 2022 from USA Wrestling.
