Alan Davidson currently serves as the Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information at the U.S. Department of Commerce, overseeing the National Telecommunications and Information Administration since January 2022. Previously, Davidson worked at Mozilla as a Senior Advisor to the Mozilla Foundation and Vice President of Global Policy, Trust, and Security, where leadership focused on public policy, privacy, and cybersecurity. Additional experience includes roles at Credo AI, New America, and the U.S. Department of Commerce as Director of Digital Economy. Davidson also held positions at the New America Foundation, MIT, Google, and Georgetown University, combining extensive expertise in technology policy and law with teaching experience. Educational qualifications include degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Yale Law School.
