Katherine Ball

Katherine Ball is an accomplished professional currently serving as an ORISE Science Policy Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy since February 2021, where the focus is on expanding project development initiated during the NOAA Knauss Fellowship, particularly in the Wind Energy Technologies Office. Prior to this role, Katherine held the position of Offshore Wind Stakeholder Engagement Specialist during the Knauss Fellowship, engaging in social science and stakeholder activities. Katherine has a strong academic background with a Doctor of Philosophy in Human and Social Dimensions of Science and Technology from Arizona State University, alongside a Master's degree in Science and Technology Policy and a Bachelor's degree in Oceanography. Previous professional experiences include a Graduate Research Assistant role at Arizona State University focusing on community engagement in environmental issues, coordination of the ASU Citizen Science Network, and environmental education with the National Park Service and AmeriCorps.
