Josie Thomas is an experienced legal professional currently serving as a Resident Legal Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice since January 2022. With a longstanding career at the United States Attorneys' Offices since October 2009, Josie has held roles including Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division. Additionally, from September 2010 to December 2021, Josie served as Adjunct Faculty at Stetson University College of Law. Prior legal experience includes clerking for The Honorable Charles R. Wilson at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and for The Honorable Elizabeth A. Jenkins at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Josie holds a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Textile Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from North Carolina State University.
