Derrick Smith

Derrick Smith is a seasoned professional in sports media relations and public affairs with extensive experience ranging from freelance work since 1999 to a long-standing role as Media Relations Game Day Assistant for the Tennessee Titans. Derrick has contributed to high-profile events, including the NFL Draft and NCAA Basketball Tournaments, while also serving as a public address announcer at various sporting events. As the owner of DOR Way Communications, Derrick offers services in public and media relations, statistics, and voice-over work. Additional roles include public affairs specialist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and adjunct professor at National College. Derrick holds a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Human Performance Sport Science from Tennessee State University, alongside various other educational certifications in journalism and project management.
