Jacqueline Hanzal

Director, Technical Customer Service at USGBC/GBCI/Arc

Jacqueline Hanzal has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Jacqueline started their career at Olbrich Botanical Garden as a Horticulture Intern in 2005. Jacqueline then worked as a Program Manager at the Department of Natural Resources Bureau of Education/Green and Healthy Schools Program, where they managed a statewide school program and coordinated workshops and seminars for environmental certification programs.

In 2007, they joined the University of Wisconsin Madison Arboretum as a Program Manager. During their time there, they focused on conservation, ecological restoration, and community outreach and education. In the same year, they also worked as an Environmental Specialist at the Department of Ecology/Stormwater Inspector, conducting site visits and testing water quality to evaluate compliance with environmental regulations.

Jacqueline then transitioned to a role as an Environmental Educator at Woodland Park Zoo, where they taught science curricula to children and supervised assistant instructors, interns, and volunteers. Jacqueline also worked at KAVU as a Ballard Flagship Store Salesperson.

From 2008 to 2011, they were a Professional Coach for the University of Redlands Account at InsideTrack, where they coached students on the team, increased student enrollment and retention, and collaborated with the college admission team.

In 2011, Jacqueline became a Fundraising Manager at Celilo Group Media/Fundraising/Community Outreach, where they developed and managed relationships with schools and non-profits, provided fundraising development support, and marketed businesses through advertisements.

In 2012, they joined Capella University as a Senior Consultative Sales Enrollment Counselor, receiving various awards for their recruitment numbers and performance. Jacqueline was also selected for the Capella Leader in-training program, which focused on leadership development.

Jacqueline'smost recent work experience is at the U.S. Green Building Council, where they started as a Green Building Specialist in 2015. Jacqueline then progressed to roles as Customer Service Manager, Associate Director of Customer Service, and currently serves as the Director of Technical Customer Service. In their current role, they lead and mentors staff to provide customer guidance on LEED credentials, zero waste certification, and green building education. Jacqueline also leads the Outreach team and builds relationships with stakeholders to improve rating system guidance.

Jacqueline Hanzal earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology Conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the years 2000 to 2004. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies in 2021, the Green Classroom Professional Certificate from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2016, the Project Learning Tree Certified and Project WET certified in 2007, the TRUE Advisor Certificate from Green Business Certification, Inc. in February 2018, and they are a Certified Prairie Burner.
