Paul Wessel

Paul Wessel has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Paul began their career as a labor organizer and representative for various unions from 1986 to 2000. Following this, they worked as the Director of Traffic and Parking for the City of New Haven from 2000 to 2006. Paul then served as the Field Director for the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut from 2006 to 2009. From 2009 to 2011, Paul Wessel was the Executive Director of Connecticut Parent Power, a parent-led organization. Paul then held the role of Executive Director at the Green Parking Council from 2011 to 2015, where they focused on promoting sustainable practices in parking facilities. Paul Wessel founded their own consulting firm, To Be of Use, LLC, in 2008 and served as its Owner and Principal Consultant until 2016. In 2016, they joined the U.S. Green Building Council as the Director of Market Development, where they focus on promoting construction and maintenance practices that preserve the environment. In 2019, Paul Wessel became the Board Chair of Collective Consciousness Theatre. More recently, in 2021, they joined the Greater New Haven Clean Cities Coalition, Inc. as a Coordinator.

Paul Wessel has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Urban Policy Analysis & Management from The New School, which they obtained in 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History at Wesleyan University from 1977 to 1982. Paul also attended Lee High School from 1974 to 1977.
