Mitchell Benzine is a legal professional with extensive experience in government and legislative affairs. Currently serving as General Counsel for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and as Staff Director for the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic since July 2018, Mitchell has also held roles such as Senior Policy Counsel and Counsel within the same committee. Prior experience includes a position as Legislative Counsel for Congressman Robert Pittenger and a Law Clerk for the U.S. Senate's Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Early legal experience encompasses law clerk positions with the Wisconsin Elections Commission and the Office of the Wisconsin Governor, as well as internships with the Speaker of the House and the U.S. House of Representatives. Mitchell holds a Juris Doctor from Marquette University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government from Appalachian State University.
