Chief Technology Officer at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command

Jon S. has a diverse work experience in both military and civilian sectors. Their most recent position is as the Chief Technology Officer at the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, a role they began in June 2022. Prior to that, they were the G6 Senior Technical Advisor at V Corps from July 2020 to June 2022. Before that, Jon worked as the Division Senior Network Technician for the 2d Infantry Division from March 2018 to July 2020, and as the Brigade Senior Warrant Officer/Senior Technical Advisor for the 21st Signal Brigade from December 2016 to March 2018. Jon also served as a Senior Network Management Technician and Senior Warrant Officer for the 302d Signal Battalion from September 2015 to December 2016. Jon also held key positions at HQ Army North, including G2 Senior Network Technician and Director of the Joint Network Communications Center, from April 2012 to July 2014. Jon's career began at HQ Special Operations Command, Europe, where they served as the Network Operations Center Officer-In-Charge from March 2009 to March 2012. Finally, they completed the Network Management Technician 250N Warrant Officer Advanced Course as a student from August 2008 to February 2009.

Jon S. attended the University of Arkansas Grantham from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained an ASIS degree in Information Systems. Jon then furthered their education at the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2011 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Cybersecurity. In addition to their degrees, Jon S. obtained various certifications, including ITIL Continual Service Improvement (ITIL-CSI), ITIL Foundation, ITIL Service Design (ITIL-SD), CISSP, A+, Network +, Security +, and CCNA from institutions such as AXELOS Global Best Practice, (ISC)², CompTIA, and Cisco.
