Jennifer Weggen has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. Jennifer began their career as a Supply Corps Officer in the US Navy, where they worked from 1990 to 2002. After that, they transitioned to Hanover County Public Schools, where they worked as a Special Education Teacher from 1996 to 2005. Jennifer then joined the US Naval Academy as a Blue and Gold Officer from 2001 to 2010. In 2014, they interned at both the City of Richmond, Virginia and the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Jennifer also served as an Assistant Regional Director for the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps starting in 2005. Jennifer's most recent work experience includes being a Graduate Teaching & Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2015 to the present, and an Adjunct Instructor at the same institution starting in June 2017.
Jennifer Weggen earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in General Science from the United States Naval Academy in 1990. Jennifer then obtained a Graduate Teaching Certification in Special Education, specializing in Learning Disabled and Emotionally Disturbed, from Norfolk State University in 1996. Jennifer furthered their education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health and Physical Education and Exercise Science from 2011 to 2014. Jennifer pursued higher studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Health and Movement Science from 2015 to 2017. Currently, Jennifer Weggen is undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Rehabilitation and Movement Science (Exercise Physiology) at Virginia Commonwealth University, starting in 2017.
