Area Commander at U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps

Jim Jones is an experienced military leader with a robust background in naval operations and maintenance. Currently serving as Area Commander for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps since March 2022, Jim has previously held roles including Commanding Officer at IMF PACNORWEST from August 2013 to August 2016, and Deputy Shipyard Commander at Norfolk Naval Shipyard from April 2012 to June 2013. Additional key positions include Maintenance Readiness Improvements Officer at COMSUBLANT and Chief Engineer on the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69). Jim’s educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University and a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education & Development from Southern Illinois University, supplemented by training from Navy Nuclear Power School.
