Matthew Goetten serves as the Chief of National Security Law and Chief of National Guard and Reserve Legal Operations at NORAD & US Northern Command since September 2021. In addition, Matthew has been a Special Prosecutor with the Illinois Office of the State's Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor since December 2012 and held the position of Staff Judge Advocate for the 126th Air Refueling Wing from 2015 to 2021. Matthew previously served as the Greene County State's Attorney from 2004 until December 2012, overseeing all criminal prosecutions in the county. Earlier experience includes various roles within the Army National Guard, legal clerkships, and a research assistant position during law school. Matthew holds a Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University, a Master's degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the same university.
