U.S. SUGAR
Rosa Muchovej has extensive work experience in the field of soil science and agriculture. Rosa started their career in 1984 as a Professor at Universidade Federal de Vicosa. In 1993, they joined RCREC, a division of the University of Florida, where they worked until 1995. Rosa then moved to SWFREC, another division of the University of Florida, where they held various roles until 2009. In 2009, Rosa joined U.S. Sugar as the Chief Soils Scientist, where they continue to work.
Rosa Muchovej pursued their education by first earning a Bachelor's degree in Soil Science and Agronomy, General at Purdue University from 1973 to 1976. Rosa then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Soils and Plant Nutrition at Universidade Federal de Vicosa from 1978 to 1980. Finally, they completed their academic journey by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Soil and Plant Sciences from Virginia Tech between 1980 and 1983.

U.S. Sugar is one of the nation’s largest fully integrated producers of sugar cane, one of Florida’s major producers of orange juice products, and a regional short line railroad operator. Headquartered in Clewiston, Florida the company farms more than 180,000 acres in Hendry, Glades, and Palm Beach counties and employs approximately 1,700 people including many high-skilled/wage jobs in automated environments. Produces 650,000 - 700,000 tons of cane sugar a year, providing nearly 8% of the nation’s sugar production.
