Simon Tran Hudes is a trade policy research coordinator at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, specializing in Southeast Asia and Pacific Affairs since August 2022. Previously, Simon served as a research associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where responsibilities included conducting detailed analyses of political and economic developments in Southeast Asia, managing Covid-19 research projects, and authoring policy analyses related to the Myanmar coup. Simon also held editorial positions at the Foreign Policy Institute and contributed to political campaigns, notably as a campaign manager for Bao Nguyen for Congress. With a Master of Arts in Southeast Asian Studies from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Lewis & Clark College, Simon has built a robust career in trade policy, research, and international affairs.
