Awet Abraha

Awet Abraha is an accomplished basketball coach and manager with extensive experience in team operations and video coordination. Currently serving as Assistant Coach and Manager of Team Operations for Calgary Surge since May 2023, Awet also holds the position of Lead Assistant Basketball Coach at Mount Royal University since August 2022. As a Co-Founder and President of YYC Eritreans since July 2017, Awet demonstrates strong leadership skills. Previous roles include Head Coach at CYDC Basketball and fellowship finalist with the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club Inc. Awet's background also includes experience in accounting through positions at Mountain Park Real Estate, Kaizen Automotive Group, and Enterprise Holdings. A former University basketball athlete and captain at Mount Royal University, Awet earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Accounting.
