Cornel Rautenbach

Head of Development, Ship Logic at Uafrica

Cornel Rautenbach is the current head of Development for Ship Logic at uAfrica. Cornel has been in this position since November 2019. Prior to that, they were the head of Technology at uAfrica from January 2014 to November 2019. Cornel has also worked as a Solution Architect at ITSI from March 2011 to September 2013. In their previous role as a Full Stack Engineer at EPI-USE America, they were responsible for custom HR software development, user interface design, and rich mobile web application development that integrates with SAP. Cornel began their career as a Junior Software Developer at Grintek Ewation in December 2009, where they worked on signal intelligence tools including video chat and voice calls using radio signals and battlefield planning based on signal intelligence. Cornel also has experience as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Pretoria, which they did from July 2007 to December 2007.

Cornel Rautenbach has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University, a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, and a BIS in Multimedia from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria. Their field of study is Artificial Intelligence and they have also studied Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley.
