Myriam Benmussa has had a long and successful career in engineering. Myriam began their career in 2001 as a Space Engineer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In 2002, they moved to Apside Technologies as a Software Engineer, where they maintained the radar tracking module of a ground/air weapon system simulation software for Thales Air Defence. In 2005, they joined Siemens as a Software Development Manager, responsible for the team in charge of development and validation of the ATC (Automatic Train Control) software deployed on the driverless metro Alger Line 1, Barcelona Line 9 and New York Line L. In 2010, they moved to Alstom as a Test & Commissioning Manager, where they managed a team in charge of the on-site testing and commissioning of railway signalling equipment for RATP and SNCF projects. Myriam was also Head of Validation & Verification, managing the Validation and Verification department of automatic train driving systems. In 2019, they joined Transdev as Head of Engineering - Supervision of Autonomous Transport Systems, managing the R&D team in charge of creating the autonomous fleet supervision system. Currently, they are System Director at UAVIA, developing and deploying the system roadmap to meet the needs and challenges of various complex projects.
Myriam Benmussa began their educational journey in 1992 when they obtained a Master in Engineering from École des Mines de Saint-Étienne. Myriam then went on to pursue a Postgraduate Degree in Space Technologies at Pierre and Marie Curie University, which they completed in 1996. Finally, they received their Doctor of Philosophy in Space Technologies from the same university in 1999.
