Stathia Sylvester has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Stathia began their career as a Legal Specialist at Dykema Gossett PLLC in 1985 and later worked as a Staff Manager in the Legal Department at Michigan Bell/Ameritech. In 1994, they transitioned to Insurance Overload Staffing as a Claims Representative, and then joined Detroit Diesel Corporation as a Benefits Representative in 1998.

From 2004 to 2006, Sylvester worked as a Training Coordinator at Lighthouse Consulting Partners before joining Advanced Technology Academy as a Middle School Science and Social Studies Teacher from 2006 to 2011.
