Abbas Raza

Abbas Raza has extensive experience in the financial sector, with a particular focus on risk management and treasury operations. Abbas is currently serving as the Head of Market Risk at UBA America. Prior to this role, they held the Deputy Head of Risk Management position at UBA America from June 2021 to December 2022. Abbas has also worked as a Managing Director at New York Capital Management from 2020 to 2021. Before that, they served as an Executive Director at UBS from 2015 to 2019. Abbas has a long tenure at J.P. Morgan, where they held various roles from 2007 to 2015, including SVP in the Corporate & Investment Bank division. Further, they worked at Countrywide Financial Corp as a VP in Trading & Risk Management from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they gained experience as a Relationship Manager at HBL - Habib Bank Limited from 1999 to 2001 and as a Banking Advisor at Mashreq Bank from 1997 to 1999.

Abbas Raza has a strong education background, with degrees and certificates from various reputable institutions. Abbas started their education in 1993 at the University of London, where they pursued A-Levels in Accounting & Economics until 1994. Following this, they enrolled at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics between 1994 and 1997. To further enhance their knowledge and credentials, Abbas Raza pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Finance at The George Washington University from 2001 to 2002. Afterwards, they attended Georgia State University from 2002 to 2003 and earned a Graduate Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management.
