Kurt Niquidet

Adjunct Professor at UBC Faculty of Forestry

Kurt Niquidet is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in academia and the forest economics sector. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at both UBC Master of Food and Resource Economics and The University of British Columbia's Faculty of Forestry, Kurt Niquidet also holds the role of Vice President and Chief Economist at the BC Council of Forest Industries. Prior experience includes key positions at the Bank of Canada as Director of the Emerging Markets Division and Senior Policy Advisor - Commodities, as well as various roles at Natural Resources Canada and the University of Victoria. Kurt Niquidet completed a Ph.D. in Economic Geography, specializing in Natural Resource Economics and Policy at the University of Groningen, and holds a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Victoria, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Forest Management from The University of British Columbia.
