Bastien Desplands

Bastien Desplands has extensive experience in safety science and project management, currently serving as a Senior Safety Scientist at UBC since June 2018, where responsibilities include ensuring compliance with internal procedures and international regulations, managing workflows, and evaluating safety reports. Prior to this role, Bastien worked as a Safety Data Associate, performing data entry and supporting global pharmacovigilance efforts. Additional experience includes project collaboration for the Service cantonal du développement durable and research collaboration at the Université de Genève, focusing on genetics and molecular biology techniques. Bastien holds a Master's degree in Biology from the University of Geneva and has held various roles earlier in their career, including positions with the Etat de Genève and McDonald's Restaurants.
