Mike Ormond

Mike Ormond has a diverse work experience spanning from 1990 to 2023.

Mike started their career as an Electro-Optical Research Engineer at the UK Ministry of Defence in 1990 and worked there until 1993.

Mike then joined MEI and held various roles including Design Assurance Engineer and Manager of European Product Software Services.

In 1995, Mike joined Mercury Interactive as a Field Applications Engineer, where they acted as a technical authority for automated testing tools in southwest UK accounts until 1997.

In 1997, they started working at Microsoft and held several roles including Manager of Product Support Services (Developer Support), Group Manager of European Developer Support, Technical Advocacy Manager, Principal Technical Advocate, and Senior Cloud Solution Architect - ISV.

From 2019 to 2021, they served as a Senior Cloud Solution Architect - ISV at Microsoft, where they delivered proofs-of-concept, architectural design sessions, and solution accelerator hackathons.

From 2021 until their current position, Mike has been a Senior Cloud Solution Architect and App Innovation Lead at Microsoft, where they advised on practice development, solution design, and customer engagements for key partners.

Lastly, in 2023, they joined UBDS as the Practice Director - Cloud Platforms, where they lead the company's expertise in cloud advisory, cloud transformation, advanced data analytics, AI, low code solutions, and cloud managed services.

Mike Ormond earned a BSc(Hons) in Information Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in the years 1986-1990. Additionally, they obtained various certifications from Microsoft and The Linux Foundation, including certifications in cybersecurity, data fundamentals, power platform solutions, and Kubernetes application development. Mike also participated in Microsoft Global Hackathon and completed several OpenHack courses. Furthermore, they hold certifications in Azure solutions architecture and AI engineering.
