Yu-Hsun (Ted) Chen has a comprehensive work experience in the field of mechanical engineering and sourcing. Yu-Hsun (Ted) started their career as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer at Wistron in November 2010 and worked there until March 2012. During this time, they designed NB A/B parts and Tablet C parts while collaborating with internal teams and ensuring development schedules were met.
From February 2014 to April 2015, Yu-Hsun worked at iXensor as a Mechanical Engineer and later as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. In these roles, they designed products and established factory production lines. Yu-Hsun (Ted) also achieved significant cost reductions and lead time improvements by introducing secondary sources, analyzing cost structures, and phasing in new manufacturing suppliers.
In April 2015, Yu-Hsun joined Dell as a Global Supply Chain Advisor. Their responsibilities included reducing inventory excess, optimizing supplier development resources, and ensuring supply chain stability through urgent order fulfillment and demand review.
From August 2017 to July 2018, Yu-Hsun worked at Hyve Solutions as a Product Sourcing Manager. Here, they played a key role in setting up a new contract manufacturer, leading NPI projects on time and within budget, and driving BOM cost reductions.
Yu-Hsun then joined Tymphany in January 2019 as a Global Key Account Sourcing Project Manager. Yu-Hsun (Ted) worked in this role until March 2021, where they managed sourcing projects and key accounts.
In March 2021, Yu-Hsun joined VanMoof as a Senior Mechanical Sourcing Specialist. Yu-Hsun (Ted) worked on sourcing activities until September 2021 when they transitioned to their current role as a Mechanical Component Engineer (Global Sourcing Manager) at Ubiquiti Inc.
Throughout their career, Yu-Hsun has demonstrated their expertise in mechanical engineering, sourcing, project management, and cost reduction.
Yu-Hsun (Ted) Chen's education history begins in 2005 when they enrolled at National Taiwan University. From 2005 to 2009, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, in 2018, they briefly attended Draper University where they received training in Entrepreneurship as part of their Entrepreneur Hero Training program.
