Matthew Sykes has a long history of work experience. Matthew began as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008. Matthew then moved on to the University of Michigan in 2009, where they served as a Graduate Student Research Assistant. In 2015, they joined Argonne National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Appointee. In 2018, they began working at Ubiquitous Energy, where they have held the roles of Director of Materials Development, Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Photovoltaics Scientist.
Matthew Sykes completed their educational history by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science from the University of Michigan between 2009 and 2015. Prior to that, they had obtained a Bachelor's of Science (BS) in Materials Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2004 and 2009. During their time at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, they also took classes at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College between 2005 and 2006.
