Hazem Shawki

Hazem Shawki currently serves as the Managing Director and Head of the Investment Bank for the Middle East & North Africa at UBS since May 2024. Prior to this role, Hazem held the position of Managing Director at Credit Suisse, overseeing Private & Growth Markets in Investment Banking & Capital Markets from October 2019 to June 2024. Hazem also led investment banking for the MENA region at Goldman Sachs from June 2011 to October 2019 and was a Managing Partner at EFG-Hermes from June 2008 to May 2011. Additionally, Hazem spent nearly nine years at Goldman Sachs earlier in a Managing Director role from July 1999 to June 2008. Hazem holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics and Finance from McGill University.
