Sam Barakat

Sam Barakat, MBA, currently serves as Executive Director at UBS, leading the USD Clearing Competence Center within Correspondent Banking since September 2017. Prior to this role, Barakat held various strategic positions, including Director at UBS, Manager at Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP, and Management Consultant at KPMG. Noteworthy accomplishments include managing a major regulatory strategy for a prominent investment bank that involved a $20 billion capitalization and the migration of 8,000 clients, as well as enhancing risk management processes under the Volcker Rule. Barakat also has extensive experience in corporate strategy and business development from tenures at the International Bank of Qatar, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, SAC Capital, and PwC. Barakat holds an MBA from IESE Business School and a BS in Geographic Information Science from the University of Maryland.
