Kristian Stevens, PhD, is a Principal Bioinformatician at the University of California, Davis, since June 2004, focusing on Genomics and Population Genomics, including sequencing reference genomes and analyzing DNA variation to understand phenotypes. Additionally, Kristian specializes in Metagenomics and NGS Diagnostics, working on metagenomic data analysis and the development of diagnostic tools. Previously, from 1999 to 2004, Kristian served as a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist at Incyte, contributing to database products, gene assembly, annotation, and comparative genomics, while supporting the patenting of key pharmaceutically relevant genes. Kristian holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis, as well as educational credentials from Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley.
