Mark Winey

Dean, College of Biological Sciences at UC Davis

Mark Winey is the current Dean of the College of Biological Sciences at UC Davis, and they have held this position since December 2016. Prior to that, they were a Professor and Chair at the University of Colorado from January 1991 to December 2016. Winey received their BA in Biology from UC Berkeley in 1977 and their PhD in Biology from Stanford University in 1982.

Mark Winey received their PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mark then went on to be a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington. Lastly, they received their BS in Biology from Syracuse University.

Mark Winey reports to Mary S. Croughan, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor. They are on a team with Kevin R. Johnson - Dean - School of Law, Viji Murali - CIO & Vice Provost - Info. & Educational Tech., and Don F. Roth - Director - Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.
