Monica Christina Esqueda

Monica Christina Esqueda, PhD, serves as the Director of Operations and Program Manager for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship Program at the University of California, Davis, where responsibilities include launching a national program funded by a $37.5M grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Additionally, Esqueda functions as an Equity Advisor in the Office of Undergraduate Education, providing strategic support on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Previous roles include Assistant Professor of Higher Education and Community College Leadership at Old Dominion University, and various research and teaching positions at prominent institutions including USC and the University of Washington. Esqueda holds a PhD in Urban Education Policy from the University of Southern California and has extensive experience in graduate student professional development and community engagement within educational contexts.
