Jeff Gattas

Jeff Gattas serves as Associate Chancellor and Chief of Staff at UC San Diego, providing strategic advice to the Chancellor and campus leadership to achieve institutional goals. With extensive experience in university communications, Gattas has held roles such as Executive Director of University Communications & Public Affairs and Senior Director of University Communications and Public Affairs, where responsibilities included directing media relations and advocacy initiatives. Prior to UC San Diego, Gattas was the Director of City Council Affairs for the Office of Mayor Jerry Sanders in San Diego and served as Chief of Staff/Policy for Councilmember Toni Atkins. Gattas holds a Senior Executive Program degree from Harvard Kennedy School and a Master of Science in Mass Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Finance from San Diego State University.
