Kristina Chan

Researcher: Clinical Bioinformatics For Female Health, Kidney Disease, & Long Covid at UC San Diego

Kristina Chan is a researcher at UC San Diego specializing in clinical bioinformatics for female health, kidney disease, and Long Covid, with experience in analyzing longitudinal datasets and wet lab host depletion since May 2023. Previously, from September 2020 to April 2023, Kristina worked at UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering on soft robotic design for endoscopy and scRNA sequencing for disease pathophysiology. Kristina's research also includes microfluidic lab-on-a-chip systems and biosensor testing at UC Berkeley, culminating in a US patent application. Education includes a Master's and ongoing PhD in Bioengineering from UC San Diego, alongside a Bachelor’s degree with distinction in Molecular Environmental Biology and Bioengineering from UC Berkeley. Kristina served as the Student Commencement Speaker for UC Berkeley's College of Natural Resources and held leadership roles including Head Teaching Assistant in Biomedical Engineering.
