Samuel Stern is a qualitative researcher at the UCLA Institute for Democracy, Education, and Access, focusing on the connections between high school principals' work and social-political contexts since June 2022. Concurrently, Samuel is pursuing a Ph.D. in Urban Schooling at UCLA. Previous experience includes serving as Assistant Dean at Pathways to Success Academic Campus in Ann Arbor, where design and execution of the Pathways Reimagination Plan was led. Samuel has also worked as a Director of Partnerships for OneGoal, Regional Director for Recount Michigan 2016, and Washtenaw County Regional Field Director for Gretchen Driskell's congressional campaign. Earlier roles include Lead Teacher and Social Studies Curriculum Lead at Pathways to Success, Innovation Fellow at The Innovatrium, and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan. Samuel holds multiple degrees from the University of Michigan, including a Master of Arts in Educational Studies and a Master of Public Policy.
