Elizabeth Engel

Elizabeth Engel currently serves as Vice President and Chief of Staff to the CEO at UCSF Health since October 2022. Prior to this role, Elizabeth was the Principal at Engel Policy and Strategy, LLC from September 2020 to September 2022, and held the position of Chief Strategy Officer at the University of California Office of the President between January 2017 and August 2020. Elizabeth has extensive experience in health policy, having worked as a Strategic Advisor at Omada Health, Head of Health Policy at Google, and Managing Director of the Health and Wellness Practice at The Glover Park Group. Additionally, Elizabeth served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and as a Health Policy Advisor to the U.S. Senate Democratic Policy Committee. Past roles also include Medical Center Counsel at Stanford University and Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at iScribe, Inc. Elizabeth Engel earned a JD from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law and a BA in Communications from UCLA.
