Katherine Pavlovich

Director, Analytics & Clinical Effectiveness at UCSF Medical Center

Katherine Pavlovich has a diverse range of work experience in healthcare and research. Katherine started their career as a Teacher, organizing workshops and projects in rural Tanzania. Katherine then worked as an Intern at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), providing support for educational and policy-making materials related to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services and HIV/AIDS treatment.

After that, they worked as a Research Coordinator for Obesity Studies at the Columbia University Medical Center, managing two research studies focusing on obesity and diabetes. Katherine was responsible for coordinating personnel, testing, patient recruitment, and budget management.

Moving forward, they joined the New York Presbyterian Hospital as a Manager, focusing on Quality and Patient Safety Improvement. Katherine led initiatives related to Length of Stay (LOS) and Patient Throughput, directed executive-level steering committees, and implemented interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care and efficiency.

Later, they became the Director of Data Analytics Strategy at the same hospital, where they created and implemented an enterprise-wide data analytics infrastructure. Katherine conceptualized and led the development of NYP's "Data Governance Suite" and managed the implementation of various reporting tools and analytic capabilities.

Most recently, Katherine held the position of Director of Analytics & Clinical Effectiveness at the UCSF Medical Center. Katherine built a team and was instrumental in creating and implementing the reporting and analytic infrastructure necessary for achieving clinical outcomes goals. Katherine developed a multi-year quality analytic roadmap, built cross-functional partnerships, and managed the integration of analytics and process improvement. Katherine also led external rankings analysis, designed a multi-year strategy for national benchmarking, and facilitated team development and engagement.

Overall, Katherine has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic planning skills throughout their work experience.

Katherine Pavlovich obtained an MPH degree in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University: Mailman School of Public Health in 2008. Katherine also earned a BA degree in Biology from Carleton College in the years 2000 to 2003. Prior to these degrees, Katherine attended St. Paul Central High School. Additionally, they obtained a certification for completing the course "Tackling the Challenges of Big Data" from edX in March 2015.
