Dr. Martin Bauer serves as Legal Counsel for UEFA since November 2012, leading counsel to the UEFA Control, Ethics, and Disciplinary Body, and providing legal support to various UEFA organs involved in the administration of justice. In addition to this role, Dr. Bauer acts as a Lecturer and engages with FIFA as a UEFA Player Status Lawyer, focusing on interpreting contracts related to players’ employment and transfers, resolving disputes, and advising stakeholders. Prior experience includes a Junior Legal Counsel position at Ralph Lauren, where contract management and legal compliance across EMEA were primary responsibilities, and a Judicial Law Clerk role at various German courts, gaining extensive experience in civil and criminal law. Dr. Bauer completed doctoral studies in sports law, obtaining a PhD from the University of Passau, and has furthered education with a UEFA Certificate in Football Management.
