Michael Leong

Michael Leong serves as the Head Centre of Excellence & Financial Management at UEM Edgenta Berhad since October 2017, where responsibilities include overseeing comprehensive financial management and directing finance functions as a principal finance executive. In this role, strategic initiatives led to significant reductions in tax assessments and successful ERP implementations. Previously, as General Manager of Group Finance at Tropicana Corporation Berhad, Michael managed various financial schemes and corporate exercises to optimize capital structure and enhance shareholder value. Experience also includes treasury operations at PureCircle USA and assurance engagements at Ernst & Young, contributing to a strong foundation in financial reporting and strategic financial management. Michael holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and an ACCA qualification.
