UGE develops, owns, and operates community and commercial solar and energy storage projects in the United States and abroad. With over a decade of experience in the industry, we are on the front lines, working to accelerate the transition to clean, reliable energy worldwide.

Our team is growing quickly, and we seek talented and motivated individuals to join our project development team with a focus on ground mount opportunities.

The Solar Project Developer I will support community solar and solar + storage project development throughout the US while working closely with senior management. This role supports specific activities required during project development, including land use applications, interconnection, surveying, permitting, and financial modeling. We are looking for candidates with experience in either rooftop or ground mount project development.

Responsibilities

  • Support key development items including interconnection, permitting, surveying, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage external vendor relationships in order to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Maintain and update project scheduling, CRM, and ERP platforms including key project timelines and budgets.
  • Perform due diligence and financial analysis of opportunities in various markets.
  • Support research initiatives in new and existing markets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to execute on engineering, legal, and financing requirements
  • Work closely with the Procurement and Deployment teams during development phases and early deployment phases.
  • Support the negotiation of key long-term contracts including leases, LOIs, and PPAs.

Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of renewable energy development experience, preferably within large commercial-scale solar development
  • Have a strong understanding of community solar and net metering project development and its associated financial incentive structures.
  • Proven track record in successful development renewable energy projects
  • Ability to analyze information, interpret data, and solve practical problems
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Self-starter who likes to consistently meet and exceed targets
  • Experience with MS Office, utilizing CRMs, shared folder drives, and similar tools
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
