Akila Somasegar

Akila Somasegar is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in governance and nonprofit organizations. Currently serving as a Global Leadership Council Member at the United Nations Foundation since February 2020, Akila has also been a Board member, emeritus, and Advisory Board Member for Girl Up within the same foundation since January 2014. Additionally, Akila contributes as a Global Advisory Board Member for the UiPath Foundation and as a Director on the Board of YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish. With a commitment to philanthropy, Akila is the President of the Akila & S. Somasegar Family Foundation and previously held the position of Director on the Board of Bellevue LifeSpring. Earlier career experience includes roles as Director of Revenue at buuteeq inc and International Accountant at Microsoft. Akila holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting from Bharathidasan University and a PG Diploma in Computer Science and Information Management from Softcrest inc.
