Samit Ghosh

Samit Ghosh is the current Chairman at Ujjivan Financial Services and the founder of Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd. Samit has over 25 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. Prior to their current role, they were the Managing Director at Ujjivan Financial Services Pvt Ltd from November 2005 to February 2017. During their time there, they founded UFLS, which became the promoter and 100% owner company of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank in February 2017. From July 1996 to December 1997, they were the Non Executive Director at HDFC Bank where they helped set up the foundation of the Retail Banking Business and built the infrastructure for future growth. From January 1993 to December 1996, they were the Regional Head of Personal Banking for Middle East & South Asia at Standard Chartered Bank. In December 2019, they returned to Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd as the founder. Samit has been in their current role since September 2020.

Samit Ghosh has a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School and a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Mathematics from Jadavpur University. Samit also has a Cambridge School Certificate in Science from St. Xavier's in Kolkata.
