Tim Springett

Tim Springett serves as the Chairperson of the Labour Affairs Committee at the International Chamber of Shipping since September 2023, where the role includes representing the Shipowners' Group at the International Labour Organisation. With a long-standing career at the UK Chamber of Shipping since 1989, Tim has held various positions including Policy Director for Employment and Legal, contributing significantly to maritime occupational safety and legal guidance within the shipping industry. Tim's expertise extends to leadership roles in international conferences and authoring key publications on matters such as equality, mental wellbeing, and health regulations for seafarers. Additionally, Tim is the Director of the Merchant Navy Training Board, a part-time journalist for When Saturday Comes, and a musician with the tribute band The Spiders from Sidcup. Tim holds multiple degrees in law and maritime studies, underpinned by a solid educational foundation from institutions such as the World Maritime University and the University of Bradford.
