Alissa Briggs

Alissa Briggs is an Associate Professor and Licensed Psychologist at UK HealthCare, where responsibilities include serving the pediatrics department, teaching future psychologists and pediatricians, and researching suicide and child abuse prevention. Alissa directs school-based mental health services and acts as the engagement and well-being liaison for the pediatrics department. Previous experience includes providing assessment and counseling services at MindPsi School Psychological Services and Lincoln County High School, where collaboration with community agencies ensured access to essential services for students. Academically, Alissa earned a PhD in School Psychology and an M.Ed in Educational Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, alongside a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Grinnell College. Additional roles have included coaching swimming and serving as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Chicago.
