Tao Chen

Tao Chen is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in product management, digital transformation, and team leadership across various sectors. Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director at UL since July 2016, Tao oversees a global team of over 160 employees, focusing on digitalization, cybersecurity, and innovative technologies in the payment and IoT industries. Previous roles include senior leadership positions at LexisNexis, where Tao led the development of SaaS products, predictive analytics, and machine learning technologies, and at Reed Elsevier, where an emphasis was placed on global product technologies. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Statistical and Computational Physics from the University of Rochester and executive management training from Harvard University and MIT Sloan School of Management.
