Andres Larrea

Andres Larrea has extensive work experience in the field of genomics and biotechnology. Andres has served as the Director of Customer Success at Ultima Genomics since 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of President at MAVAM Consulting. From 2022 to 2023, they worked as the Vice President of Genomic and Commercial Operations at Galatea Bio Inc.

Prior to their current roles, Andres worked at Pacific Biosciences for a significant duration. Andres held various positions at Pacific Biosciences, including Director of Business Development, Executive Key Account Manager, Senior Applications Sales Representative, and Manager of Field Applications Scientist. Andres was also a Field Applications Specialist II at Pacific Biosciences, where they demonstrated expertise in third-generation DNA sequencing technology, troubleshooting customer issues, and mentoring junior colleagues. Andres actively contributed to sales and customer satisfaction, and developed resources for commercialization.

Before joining Pacific Biosciences, Andres worked as an IRTA Post-Doctoral Fellow at NIEHS from 2008 to 2010. Andres also worked at the University of Miami as a Consultant and Research Associate from 2001 to 2008. Andres began their career as a Research Assistant at Florida International University in 1999. Overall, Andres Larrea has a strong background in genomics and has held various leadership and technical roles throughout their career.

Andres Larrea completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Florida State University, where they studied from 1999 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, which they successfully completed from 2001 to 2008.
