Ernie Elkins

Ernie Elkins, MBA, CPA has extensive experience in internal audit and finance roles. Ernie is currently the Chief Audit Executive and Vice President Internal Audit at Ultra Clean Technology, where they have developed and executed a strategic plan to expand the internal audit function beyond SOX compliance. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Consultant, providing accounting and finance consulting services to a start-up international security software firm.

From 2011 to 2019, Ernie served as the Chief Audit Executive and Vice President Internal Audit at Itron, Inc., where they successfully transformed the internal audit function to focus on operational business partnering and implemented cost-saving measures in the SOX function. Before that, they worked as the Global Senior Director - Internal Audit & SOX at Symantec, where they reorganized the internal audit function and implemented best practices to improve performance measurement metrics.

Ernie has also held positions at Hitachi Data Systems, where they started up the internal audit function and conducted audits in multiple countries, and at KPMG, where they created financial business case models for mergers and acquisitions. Ernie began their career at SBC, where they led merger integration strategies for billion-dollar deals, resulting in significant revenue growth and cost savings.

Ernie Elkins, MBA, CPA, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. Ernie further pursued their education at the Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Finance. Ernie's educational background also includes studies at the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.
