Heather Byers

Heather Byers has extensive work experience in the medical field. Heather is currently serving as a Senior Medical Director at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. Additionally, they hold the position of Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at Stanford University. Previously, Heather worked at Stanford Children's Health | Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, where they held multiple roles including Medical Director, Medical Geneticist, and Associate Director. Heather has also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University and as a Medical Genetics Fellow at the University of Washington. Heather's early experience includes a role as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.

Heather Byers received a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia in 2002. Heather then obtained an MD from the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine in 2012. Additionally, they earned a Certificate of Fluency in Spanish Language and Culture from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2003. Heather is board-certified in Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Heather is also a licensed Medical Doctor in the states of California (obtained in 2017) and Washington (obtained in 2014).
