Ion Gatsos has worked at Ultranav starting in 2007, initially as a Risk Manager until December 2021 and later as the Head of Research and Business Development from February 2017. In 2019, they joined Family Office Fray Leon as an Investment Advisor before transitioning to the role of Head of Shipping Investments in January 2022.
Ion Gatsos completed their Bachelor's degree in International Business and Economics at Lancaster University from 1998 to 2001. Ion then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Business/Managerial Economics at The University of Manchester from 2001 to 2002. Ion furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2004-2005. Additionally, they participated in an exchange program at the University of Richmond in 1999-2000.
