Charles Stuyck

Charles Stuyck's work experience includes several roles at Umicore, starting with their position as a Management Trainee - Process Engineer from September 2010 to December 2011. Charles was responsible for implementing lean management initiatives in the Optics business line to improve production efficiency.

After that, they worked as a Project Manager EOM from January 2012 to November 2012, overseeing the consolidation of the Optics and Finished Optics business lines from Olen, Belgium to Oklahoma, USA. Charles managed the relocation of machinery and transfer of processes, ensuring a successful transition within the given time frame and budget.

From November 2012 to April 2014, Charles served as the Production Manager Optics EOM, tasked with consolidating the operations of Umicore's Germanium crystal growth department and optics workshop. Charles focused on implementing lean manufacturing practices and leading a team of direct and indirect reports.

Charles then transitioned to sales and business development roles at Umicore, serving as the Sales and Business Development Manager UBR from May 2014 to September 2017. After that, they took on the position of Global Commercial and Strategic Development Manager UBR from October 2017 to March 2020.

Most recently, Charles held the position of Senior R&D Program Manager RBM at Umicore from March 2020 to June 2022, overseeing research and development programs in the relevant field.

Additionally, they joined Reload as a Member of the Board of Advisors in March 2022. Prior to their involvement at Umicore, they had an internship at C-Power in July 2009 and served as a student and Praeses MGM at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School from September 2009 to July 2010. Charles also gained international experience at Bekaert in 2008.
