Pierre van de Bruaene

Pierre Van de Bruaene has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Pierre began their career in 1983 as a Sales Manager at FN-Hydromanu before moving on to become a Sales and Marketing Manager at Melles Griot in 1986. In 1989, they joined OIP as a Sales and Marketing Manager.

In 1992, Van de Bruaene started working at Umicore, where they held various positions throughout their career. Pierre served as a Commercial Director for Zinc- and Lead sheet, followed by roles as a General Manager and Business Development Manager. In 2002, they became the Business Line Manager for Battery Materials, and then went on to become the SVP (Senior Vice President) of Umicore's Sales and Marketing organization in 2003.

Pierre subsequently held roles as the SVP of Engineered Metal Powders, VP of Zinc Battery Materials, and Commercial Director for West & Central Europe. From 2010 to 2017, Van de Bruaene served as the SVP of Umicore Building Products, where they led a team of 950 people and was responsible for defining the company's vision and strategy. Pierre'smost recent role at Umicore is the SVP of Environment Health & Safety, which they held from 2017 until now.

Van de Bruaene's work experience demonstrates a track record of successful implementation and reorganization of various business lines, as well as a strong focus on sales and marketing.

Pierre Van de Bruaene obtained a MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vrije Universiteit Brussel between 1977 and 1984. Prior to that, they studied Latin Mathematics at Koninklijk Atheneum Zaventem from 1966 to 1977.
